These three beautiful, spacious and family-friendly log-built lodges are sited on top of a prominent hill overlooking the vast northern wilderness. The huge scenery windows and outdoor terrace offer a panoramic view of the landscape across the different seasons. In winter you can enjoy the vista of the snowy expanse by day and the floodlit ski slopes of Ruka by night. In summer you have a breathtaking view of fells and lakes. During midsummer the midnight sun never sets. In our stunning and authentic lodges you are amidst the beauty of nature, yet close to the extensive services of Ruka Ski Resort.
Our lodges are located in Rukajärvi village. The distance to Ruka Ski Resort is around 7 km by car. The distance to Kuusamo airport (KAO) is 25km and to Kuusamo town 27 km. From the lodges there is a short connecting cross-country ski trail (in summer a hiking path) to the main cross-country ski track network of Ruka. This offers a convenient circular route of 12km passing by the ski resort. This route can also be used year round with fatbikes, and in summer as both a hiking and biking trail. Close by at Tahkolanranta, Rukan Ponitouhut offers a variety of pony experiences, such as lead rein riding and carriage rides for all ages. Snowmobile tracks are also quickly reached from the villas. Our lodges are enough far away from each other that you can fully enjoy the peace and tranquility of the surroundings.
The lodges are each named after different wild berries that grow in the area. All three are similar in size and location but in details they are quite unique. The floor space of each home is 120 m2. Each of the homes has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The well-equipped kitchen and living room is open across both floors of the lodge with windows stretching all the way to the roof and a view directly to Ruka fell. Further there is a wooden sauna with shower room as well as a utility room with washing machine and drying closet. The second floor consists of a large open plan area with two sleeping alcoves for children as well as an extra queen size bed. We especially recommend our log lodges for families. There is plenty of space for your family or even two families in one lodge.

​Other distances: The Oulanka National park with a circular hiking path called “Small Bear Round” (Pieni Karhunkierros) 28km, Ruka cross country skiing track network (nearest circular round called Vuosselinreitti) within 800m. Vuosselinreitti offers all-year-round activities. In winter you can do cross country skiing or fatbiking, in Summer beside biking also hiking and running.

Some more useful information
The heat pumps are mainly used for heating in winter but can also be used for cooling on hot summer days. The grill hut between Mustikka and Karpalo lodges and the grill house next to Juolukka lodge are for free use. The reservations start at 16:00 on arrival day and end at 12:00 on departure day. The log lodge vacation homes are self-serviced.
